Adret

Your Strava activity as an Instagram story, drawn like a poster.

The picture your sports app shares is the same for everyone. Adret draws a story for your route: the map, the relief, your title and the stats you want to show, sized for Instagram and with no watermark.

Poster of a ride over Mont Ventoux: shaded relief on a deep blue sheet, the route in orange

Three steps.

  1. 01

    Import the activity

In the app, connect Strava and pick the activity from the list. Or export its GPX from strava.com: the guide shows where, and a plain file is enough.

  2. 02

    Compose the story

Pick a style, then under Page, then Format, choose the story, at 1080×1920. Tap the title to write it, then the stats to keep the ones that count.

  3. 03

Share the poster: your phone’s share sheet sends it to Instagram like any photo, as a PNG with no watermark.

A story of your own.

  • The drawing

The map of your outing, not a ready-made one.

The relief lit by a sun, cols and summits by name, streets in their place: every story is drawn for its own route, in the style you pick.

The Classic style on two outings, a hike at Mont-Dore and a marathon in Paris: a flat map on light paper, the route in orange-red
  • The photo

Over the photo you took that day.

Lay the poster over one of your photos right in Adret, or give it a transparent background and add it to your story as a sticker, over a photo or a video. The map, the title and the stats keep their colours.

The same poster with a transparent background, a ride to Montalivet-les-Bains down to its route, title and stats: laid on a chequerboard, then over a photograph of a bike in the dunes above the sea, in low sun
  • Your stats

What you show, and what you keep to yourself.

Distance, climb, moving time, pace: up to four stats, the ones you want. And if the outing starts from your door, the start and the end can be hidden, within 200 m, before the story goes out.

The same walk twice: on the left the place name set small, with no stats; on the right a large title, “Up there”, over four stats

Fair questions.

No. A simple file is enough: nothing to connect, nothing to set up. But if you prefer, you can connect Strava and import your activities directly.

Yes, two ways.
  • In Adret itself: under Page, tap Background, then Photo, and choose it. The poster you share is already laid over it.
  • In Instagram, which also works over a video: give the poster a transparent background, export it, and add the PNG to your story as a sticker.
Either way, the map, the title and the stats keep their colours over the picture.

Yes, free.
  • On one poster: under Map, then Trace, switch on “Hide the start”, “Hide the end”, or both. The line is taken off the map within 200 m of where you set off and where you arrived.
  • On every new poster: in My account, switch on “Start and end hidden”, and each recording you import is drawn that way. You can still change it poster by poster.
The distance, the climb and the times still count the whole outing. The hidden part is removed from the poster itself, not covered over, so it is not in the exported file either. A route that passes close to its start again in the middle of the outing is hidden at its two ends only.

Two for a screen, both free and with no watermark, chosen under Page, then Format: a story at 1080×1920, or a 3:4 post at 1080×1440. The post can be portrait or landscape, and in landscape the map sits on the left with the title and stats in a column to its right; a story is portrait only. Either is a PNG, handed to your phone’s share sheet, so it can go straight to the photo library, a message or an app; PNG rather than JPEG because the background can be transparent. Adret Pro adds two for paper, at 300 dpi and in portrait or landscape: A3, which prints just as well at A4 or A2 and fits a 50×70 cm frame, and 30×40 cm, which also prints at 60×80.

All the questions

Tonight, post your outing, not the same map as everyone else.
